I’ve looked around and I’m not the first “normal person” trying to get to a million followers. However, there’s a common theme among those who are – to make money. I’ll admit, I’m just like the next guy and I like money…but money is not what I am after with this. I am interested in one thing and one thing only…to see if a normal person can get 1 million followers on Twitter. My promises to you are:

  1. This is NOT a way for me to make a quick buck. You won’t see any adwords or banners littering this website – you will ONLY see ads from sponsors who have donated items that I am giving back to you, my followers. You won’t be getting any Tweets from me that I have been paid to send…the only advertising in my tweets will include sponsors that have donated to the site and will be tied to a chance for you to win.
  2. If it gets to the point where this really starts to catch on, you won’t find me promoting myself in the media or on talk shows or whatever people may try to do to get themselves out there…I’m not interested in boosting my numbers that way. The whole point of this experiment is to see if I can get to a million followers WITHOUT that kind of help. (But if I make it to 1 million, I’m open to chatting about it.)
  3. I will NEVER keep ANY donation that I receive on the site for myself. I cannot do this without my followers and I want to be sure that everything I get here goes back out to you guys.
  4. I will NOT be re-tweeting a bunch of useless crap to you guys. I will not be like others who have setup their Twitter account to spit back out all the junk they get in. That may mean fewer Tweets from me, but I think it’s preferred as opposed to a Tweet every 5 minutes telling you to read this need article that was just tweeted to me. That’s not to say I will NEVER do this — sometimes I actually do get some Tweets worth sharing.
  5. To expand upon #4, I will also NOT be tweeting out useless stuff. You don’t need to know when I’m drinking a soda or when I’ve gone to the bathroom. I will keep my Tweets relevant and meaningful.
  6. If you ever feel that I have broken any of these promises, email me at darthjay@onemillionfollowers.com or talk about it on Twitter @DarthJay #DJ1M
